Walk for the Cure!

Thanks to all of you who supported us in our walk with prayers and donations. We had close to five thousand people participate and almost 400 thousand dollars rased to find a cure for breast cancer! Team "New Life" walked for Jami (pictured below.) Jami is a friend I graduated high school with who discovered she had breast cancer while pregnant with her daughter. Her little girl is 10 months old now and Jami is doing well, Praise God!

Mom, Taylor & I had a great time. Here are some pictures from the morning (thanks to Gramps!)

Visiting Grandma Turnipseed

We went to visit my dad's mom in Lafayette, IN on Friday. She was so excited to see Taylor and showed her off to all her friends! Here is a picture of the generations of Turnipseeds... no mistaking this bunch!

Trip to the Zoo??

We had a wonderful trip to the zoo planned on Wednesday and got all ready with camera in hand... and got there 15 minutes after the they closed for the day. We improvised and went to the big park next door. She had a great time swinging with me and going down the slide. We also tried grass as a snack... not our favorite food!

Grammy and my cool sunglasses!

Look, Grass! Looks yummy...

I think I'll just taste this piece...

Oh no... not yummy! Pretty yucky!

A Few Pictures of the Visit So Far

We're having a great time visiting with my mom and dad. I think Taylor has officially named my dad "ice" because thats what she gets whenever he's around. Mom and I took her to the park today and had fun swinging on the swings and going down the slide. I'll post those pictures when I put them in the computer.

Tomorrow we go to the photographer to try to pick our favorite pictures from her 1 year photo shoot. I always end up buying too many!!! They're always so good and it is really hard to choose. Hopefully I'll come away with some money left in my pockets this time! :-)

These first two pictures are of Taylor and the table & chairs I used as a toddler. It's still a bit big for her but she enjoys having a snack of ice while sitting at it like a big girl. She also brings her favorite stuffed animals along to join in the fun.

Traveling

Our Last Visit - Playing in the Pool!

Tomorrow we go to Michigan to visit "Grammy and Gramps." We're very exicted and looking forward to the two week visit. Please keep us in your prayers for safe travel and a good time!

We're also going up there at this time to participate in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure next Saturday. I'm looking forward to walking along with some old friends from high school and their children. We have a team mate/class mate who was diagnosed with breast cancer while she was pregnant last year. She was able to nurse her little girl and is doing well now, Praise God! If you'd like to make a pledge for our walk, you can do so at our website below.

Adventureous Mommies!

Three Babies in the Back Seat!

Me, Andrew, Taylor, Lindsey and Adam!

Just the Cutest Kids in the World

We went to visit Lindsey and the boys and what a great time we had! Lindsey and I were feeling like living on the edge so we took Taylor and the boys and went out to eat... all by ourselves! We were outnumbered but they did so well! Here are some pictures of the visit. We look forward to seeing them again SOON!! :-)

Caught in the Act!

We have a couple cabinets that Taylor is allowed to get into... I didn't know it would be a literal statement! Since she's been walking Taylor loves to pull everything out of the tupperware cabinet while I cook dinner. Today she discovered that if you pull all the stuff out, it makes a great place to climb into! I had to run and grab the camera so I could capture the little explorer in action! What you don't see is the mound of containers all over the kitchen floor! Oh-well, she had fun!

I'm very excited - tomorrow we're going to visit my friend Lindsey and her boys Adam & Andrew! If you don't know their story you can check out their blog (www.thebollines.blogspot.com)

At the Park

She loves the Swing

Picking grass was a lot of fun

We like to go to the park in the mornings (it tends to be not quite as hot!) It isn't too far from our house and we enjoy letting Taylor get outside to play now that she is walking more. This time she really enjoyed walking around in the grass (something she was not fond of a few weeks ago) and picking up "appys" (acorns) off the ground. We spent all morning hanging out at the park and finished off with a dip in our neighborhood pool. She and I both enjoyed ourselves!

Look Who's Talking Now...

Taylor is talking so much lately! Some of her favorite words are:

"Ba" - Ball

"Appy" - Apple

"At" - Cat/Hat

"Ow-ie" - a bump/bruise

"Pease" - Please

"Du-k" - Duck

"Baby" - Usually referring to herself

"Te-Te" - Taylor

"Poo-Poo" - does this need explaining??

She also says the traditional mama and dada and all that... I think she's advanced, but I'm biased! :-) We have fun teaching her new stuff as she will really try to repeat anything you ask her to say. Getting her to perform for an audience, however, is another story!

Tonight, for the first time, she played with a doll as if it were a "baby." She rocked it, fed it with one of her spoons and sang it to sleep. It is so neat to see her develop and mature into a little girl! My baby isn't a baby anymore!

Our New Website

We've been silent for too long! I finally decided to get a bigger website as we've run out of space on our old one. Now we can post away and you can keep up with Taylor and all her news! Just a new bit of information:

WE HAVE A WALKER!

I'll post pictures soon and hopefully a video as well. Thanks for visiting and enjoy the new posts.
