A new trick

Eric taught Taylor to put her hands in her pockets - I think in the
hopes that she'd walk through the stores like this and not touch
anything! (It doesn't work, but it looks cute!)

Eric & I joined a few friends and ran a 10k yesterday! Having not
trained for the race, I'd say we did well! Eric's willing to do
another one someday - but would like to train for it next time!

We're Back!

We made it home this morning safe and sound!  Taylor & I were SO glad to see daddy!  Mimi and Pop Pop invited us over for dinner so I didn't have to worry about cooking.  Afterward we went for a walk down the road to visit the goats at "Old McDonald's Farm."

A Cut and Style!

To the dismay of many of Taylor's "followers" I decided to get her hair trimmed. The back was getting very gnarly and so I figured it was time.  Cindy has cut my hair since I was in fourth grade  (whenever I've been in town to have it done) so it seemed fitting to have her give Taylor the first hair cut. Taylor was a bit nervous about what was going to happen!  She was very good but solemn the entire trim. The blow-dry and style were a bit more fun and we exchanged a few laughs. I think it turned out great and so must Taylor - she's stopped at every mirror to check herself out!

Another first for the baby book!

The Visit Wouldn't be Complete...

...without "climbing the mountain!" Grammy keeps a million pillows on
her bed and one of my favorite things to do is leap into them and
crawl up to the top! Gramps says I'm the only one allowed to touch
Grammy's precious decorative pillows so I must be special! The
festivities wouldn't be complete without stopping to say hello to
that beautiful baby in the mirror!

We leave early Wednesday morning - I've had such a wonderful visit
and will be very sad to say good-bye.

A Rousing Game...

...of Ring Around the Rosy! While waiting for the Easter egg hunt,
Taylor, Grammy & Gramps played a few rounds! Such fun!

Easter Came Early

Since we're not going to be with Grammy & Gramps on Easter this year
we decided to have a little Easter fun today. Taylor really enjoyed
the surprises in her Easter basket but the highlight was hunting the
eggs Grammy & I strategically hid around the room! We had to help
her a bit but I'd say it was a big success!

A Visit with Butterflies

Sorry for all the pictures - I had trouble picking my favorites!  (I took over 80 pictures!)

Today Gramps got off work early and took us to the Meijer Gardens
Butterfly exhibit. We went last year but I enjoyed myself much more
this time. Leading the expedition, I walked through the garden
looking at and touching (which we got in trouble for) some amazing
butterflies. Later we went outside to explore the children's
garden. I had such a wonderful time and God gave us a beautiful day to enjoy His creation.

(just after this was taken Grammy got it from the "butterfly police" for letting me try to touch the butterfly)

When the Snow is Melty...

...we go to the playground! Since the snow is patchy but the weather is still chilly, we bundled up on Saturday and went to the playground at the school down the road. The swings were a big hit (of course) as well as the slide - even Gramps enjoyed a trip down! I had so much fun I didn't want to leave but they promised we'd go back again soon!

Taylor has also perfected a trick that has been a long time coming! Yesterday mom went into get Taylor after her nap and discovered her waiting at the door - she's climbing out of her play yard! We're hoping this behavior doesn't carry over to the crib - we're not ready for an escapee!

My Favorite Games

As of today (things are subject to change quite rapidly), my favorite game is to sit on someone's shoulders, bounce up and down and toss the ball wildly! The only down side to this is that it takes two people to play - one to provide the shoulders and one to chase the ball when I throw it! It is so much fun!

I've also taken up distance running (I'm training to run the next race with mommy!) I took about thirty laps the other day, around the "circle" (from the living room through the kitchen and dining room and back to the living room). At this pace, I'll be passing up mommy soon!

Music Please

Yesterday, on the way to pick out our pictures from the last photo
shoot, we had car trouble and ended up parked on the side of the road
for a half hour! That being said we've had no car today and have
been stuck at the house all day. I'm going stir crazy (and I'm sure
Taylor is too) so we made some musical instruments to mix things up a
bit. They were a big hit - the paper plate maraca was my invention
- and the pot/drum was Grammy's addition! She enjoyed herself for
quite a while and put on a special musical review for Gramps when he
got home.

I put her in pig-tails today - notice how grown up she looks! Also
note the stitches are gone! Yeah! We're so happy to not have to
wear the itchy band-aid anymore.

PS

Taylor got her stitches out today. She did AWESOME! When we walked back to the exam room she got very nervous (must have had a flash back from the ER). She cried all the way back, "No, Mommy. All Done." But once we got to the room and assured her it would be ok, she calmed down. Taylor sat on my lap and let the nurse remove the stitches without any additional personnel! She cried a bit but sat very still and seemed to understand it needed to be done. The nurse praised Taylor and commented that most kids her age need at least three people to hold them down while she removes stitches! After the ordeal, Taylor received her very first sucker (grape flavor - yum!) which she got all over herself!

Hooray for Taylor - She's the best!!!

Gramps - Show me How to Open the Fridge!

Wow... This is Great! What Shall I Eat for a Bedtime Snack?

Yogurt is one of my Favorites!

Okay... Gramps You do the Feeding!

My Very Own Yorkie!

Grandma & Pa Follick came to visit this past weekend and we had a
great time. The highlight of their visit was their gift to me - my
first pet! I love my yorkie and I really enjoy taking it for "walks"
around the house!

I was also a bit mischievous toward my Grandma! I
would lovingly take her hand and ask her to "get up, grandma." Then
we would walk a few steps and I would reveal my ulterior motive - I'd
drop her hand and race to her seat to climb up and bask in my
cleverness... (We're in trouble!)

Snow Play

Saturdays are the days I get to spend all day with Gramps! Today he
took me outside to go for a walk in the snow and build a snow man!

Visiting Grammy & Gramps

Just a few pictures of my playtime at Grammy & Gramps' house.  My owie is getting better & better every day!  Monday I'll go to my friend Elizabeth's pediatrician and get the stitches out!  I'll be so glad not to wear this huge band-aid anymore... it's itchy!!
