Thank You!

Thanks to all of you for your prayers, phone calls and visits! We are HOME!! :-)  The Drs. at the hospital could not diagnose it as asthma (a specialist will do that - we may see one after talking to our pedi.) but she responded well to the nebulizer and oral meds so treating it as asthma is what they did and we were able to come home this evening.  She was able to come off the oxygen this morning and was much more active and more like her old self.  We went for a couple walks while at the hospital which seemed to help her morale (and ours!)  We came home with a nebulizer to continue the treatments and some oral steroids to take for a few days.  We will see the pediatrician on Tuesday for a follow up.  We're all glad to be home and are looking forward to some restful sleep!

The nurses brought toys - what a great way to spend the day that was supposed to be your birthday party day!

Taking a no fun nebulizer treatment!

Walking through the hospital was by far our favorite thing to do.

It was such a neat hospital designed with things to keep children occupied - like these little windows and courtyards with water features to play in!

we need your prayers

On Friday evening we took Taylor to the dr. She was lathargic and having difficulty breathing regularly. The pedi measured her oxygen saturation level at 83 and sent us on a nice ambulance ride to the Dell childrens hosp. They've decided she had a virus that has triggered asthma. We are here untill she can maintain a normal sat level without the oxygen(hopefully today). We are all pretty tired! I'll try to keep you posted.

The Little Fish

We made it home Tuesday morning and started our ISR swim lessons Tues. afternoon.  They've been pretty intense so far and she's been exhausted afterward.  Taylor has not been too fond of them as today when we pulled up into the parking lot she started whining and saying "no swim!"  She didn't cry as much today and seems to be getting the hang of it.  Our instructor, Ms. Robin, is so wonderful - we'll be posting pictures soon!  Thanks to our friends Adam & Andrew for introducing us to this program!  (Click the boys names above to watch Andrew perform his float final exam.)

The Beach!

We went to Lake Michigan yesterday to play at the beach.  Last summer, Taylor hated the sand and couldn't stand to touch it!  This year she had a ball playing in the "dirt sand" and going "wimming" in the big lake.  We also enjoyed watching the sea gulls and the big sail boats that come in and out of the channel at the state park.  Of course the evening was finished off by a stop at the Ice Cream Hut for a scoop!

A Little Rain...

Doesn't stop us from playing outside! We just improvised a little
bit! Taylor had a great time dancing around with Gramps' umbrella
and swinging with a makeshift canopy.

Friends to Play

Taylor had her friends Elizabeth and Kaley over to play this
afternoon. Their moms are friends of mine from H.S. so we had a good
time catching up and watching the girls play. Taylor was the mother
hen, giving out hugs and kisses and making sure that the other two
were alright. We're looking forward to getting together again next
week! (I couldn't catch Kaley and Taylor together - maybe next week!)

Mr. Potato Head Lost His Glasses

Party Pictures

Zach's graduation party was yesterday and the weather didn't seem to want to cooperate!  It finally cleared up and the turn out was pretty good!  We had a great time playing outside - our favorite thing to do was go fishing for ice cubes in the coke buckets!

After the party we had a little party for Taylor with the family that had come into town.  She sang the happy birthday song with everyone and then continued to sing it to herself (and Owen) throughout the evening!

Her hair was so un-ruley I put it in pig-tales and made use of these cute bows she wont keep in otherwise!

An Afternoon in Pictures

This afternoon was spent outside helping Grammy & Gramps do some yard work for Zach's graduation party.  The first order of business was hanging my new swing so I could supervise and lounge!

I decided to take a milk break and gave everyone else a chance to relax as well!

After some rest (bossing everyone around is very tiring) I ordered Gramps to take me for a walk to the school to see the kids (it was field day and all the kids were outside).  I had a great time watching everyone play!

We're Here!

We made it up to Grand Rapids to visit Grammy & Gramps until the 24th!  We're looking forward to a great visit!  The weather was cool on Tuesday but has gotten kinda muggy and rainy since we've been here so no outside adventures yet.  We'll have some pictures to post soon!

Our Anniversary

Last night we celebrated our sixth anniversary with an adult night out!  Our friends were able to babysit Taylor so we could enjoy dinner in peace and quiet (a rare occasion for us!)  Eric kept the location secret and surprised me with reservations at the Mansion at Judge's Hill.  We had a wonderful dinner and topped the meal off with a complimentary desert from our server.  I thought it was pretty so I snapped a picture with Eric's phone!

What a Funny Gal!

I took this in the car this evening - I thought her pose was hilarious!  I love how she has her hands folded together.  She's such a ham!

PS.  Sorry we've not been posting lately - we've been under the weather all week!  (All of us!)
