Pictures From This Evening

Last-minute (the day of) we're carving our pumpkin that we got from the farm a few weekends ago.  We spent the evening with some friends who have a great neighborhood for the kids... they had hay rides around the neighborhood and a chile cook-off for the adults.  Taylor was a little grey mouse this year but she kept telling everyone that she was "mickey/minney mouse" depending on who asked.  We were surprised that Tay actually enjoyed the trick-or-treating and ran from house to house, excited to wear her costume.  We had a great time.

She was not sure about the gook inside the pumpkin...

After further inspection of the pumpkin she warmed up to the idea!

Our little mouse!

I'm proud of the pumpkin!  (I got a kit from Target... it worked great!)

Our friends, Ross and Trenton (aka: Batman and Yoda) - Ready for action!

The mouse got a little tired and climbed up on daddy's shoulders for the walk home!

This is after a long evening and no afternoon nap.  I actually got the make-up washed off without waking her up!  (she awoke while removing the suit and we had to go downstairs for a late night snack!)

An Evening in the Park

We had an evening planned at the zoo but it closed before we got there!  So, instead, we spent the evening at Forrest Park adjacent to the zoo.  (Forrest park is several acres bigger than central park in NYC!)  We had a great time running and jumping and throwing pine needles at mommy!  The weather has been beautiful... and chilly!  Just the way I like it!

I love this picture - a little plumber!  :-)

The great escape after tossing pine needles at mommy!

What a brave girl - she jumped several times without holding my hand - Thankfully not into the fountain!

Two Year Pictures

Taylor's two year pictures were quite challenging!  Despite the talent's temperament we managed to get a few good shots.  This is a collage I ordered from our shoot at the park.  We had a great time and Cindy always manages to get some wonderful shots.  I can't wait to get this home!

Fall Farm Fun!

We spent the day yesterday at a couple different farms.  In the morning we went to a local farm to check it out and take some pictures.  We had a good time going on the hay ride and running around in the pumpkins.  In the evening we went to Eckert's farm which was a bit of a drive, but definitely worth it!  Taylor had a blast, riding the pony, the airplane and the tractor.  Then we took a hay ride out to the orchard to pick apples and pumpkins!  We're already planning a return trip to do some of the activities we missed out on!

Riding to the car with our stash!  What a fun day!

Just a couple of pictures

Taylor and I go to BSF on Wednesday mornings.  I'm really enjoying the study of Moses and the adult interaction!  Taylor is in the two's class and has some wonderful leaders who keep her playing and learning while I'm with my group.  Since the class is at 9:10 in the morning and about 30 minutes away, we usually make a day of it by having a "girls lunch" out and then running errands and going to the park (as Taylor w/o a nap will allow!)  Yesterday we were able to go to Faust park and play on the awesome playground and ride the indoor carousel a couple times (We both got to ride on the horse together... fun!)  There is also a year-round butterfly house there.  (we're saving that for a rainy day and we'll be sure to post pictures.)

This is a picture from our carousel ride

Also a picture of our trip to Traverse City and Petoskey when we were in Michigan last month.

Taylor and I are looking forward to a trip to Chicago this weekend to spend time with our friend Jen and her family.  Her birthday is this weekend and we'll be celebrating that and watching her parents run the Chicago Marathon!  Good Luck!!
