Happy Birthday Grammy

I just got these off mom's camera - so I'll post a belated birthday wish!  We celebrated last Saturday with a nice dinner out and cake/presents at home afterward!  Taylor was so excited to sing and blow out the candles - and was so willing to help Grammy open the presents.

Fun Around the House

Its been pretty cold around here and we've been trying to think of fun things to do!  Yesterday Grammy painted our toe nails!  (we even got to use those cool toe separators.)

Taylor requested watermelon... She enjoyed eating HALF of the mini watermelon in one sitting!  Today we tried star fruit for the first time - it was not great, but it looked pretty!

Sorry for my Absence...

...but my FTP has not been working.  I figured out the problem (finally) and so here are a couple of posts that have been waiting to be published.

Ballerina Girl!

Mom got this outfit from Target (we added the doggy tights).  They got it out the other day while I was running errands and I came home to this sight!  She had been putting on a show for all her animals, dancing and singing!  She asked to put it on several more times and even wanted to sleep in it (I talked her out of it) but I couldn't resist snapping a couple pictures!

Party Cake

Last week Gramps brought home a beautiful little cake for us to play "tea party" with.  Taylor woke up the next morning wanting a tea party first thing... then woke up from her nap (early) eager to have the promised event.  I thought the cake was so cute - it was red velvet on the inside with some sort of jam filling in the center!  How cute would these be for a birthday party!!

Another Pudding Party!

Following a long and restful afternoon nap, Taylor woke up wanting to play... "What would you like to play?" I asked.  She thought about it for a second and said, "I want to play pudding!"  (translation:  I want to paint with pudding on the table as a cover for eating lots of chocolate!)  After Grammy agreed we cooked the pudding together on the stove then set the table for some messy fun!

A Performance

She thinks the landing at the bottom of Grammy & Gramps' stairs is her stage - and with good reason... we provide music and an audience and she'll sing for as long as you'll listen!  This LONG video is mostly for Daddy, Mimi & Pop Pop (who could watch her do nothing and think it was cute) but if you're interested in a long video of a toddler entertaining herself... go for it!  (My videographer skills are not comparable to Eric's so don't judge me based on the Christmas Video!)

video

By the way, if you make it to the end of the video... No, there is no body upstairs!  She's just talking to herself!  :-)

Picture Update

We've been trying to stay warm and dry with the occasional jaunt out to play in the snow.  The weather is perfect for curling up in an oversized chair with a cup of something hot and a good book - not a favorite past time of our wild, stir-crazy two year old!  We've been dancing, marching, playing tag and hide-n-seek but eventually you just gotta get outside and play!  (even in the coldest weather!)  Here are a few pictures of our sledding adventure at the school this morning - and one of Taylor earlier in the week with Grammy... Taylor has a bit of congestion and Grammy's story was just the thing to knock her out!

A Little of This... A Little of That!

We had a fun weekend - doing not much!  We did have our annual New Year's party on Friday night (postponed because of the sickness).  Taylor got to meet baby Cade and then this evening, Cade brought his parents over for a visit and Taylor got to HOLD him... it was a very exciting thing!  She was very sad when she had to give him up!  Here are a few pictures of our weekend.

Taylor & Gramps grilled (aka burned) pork chops and played in the snow while they were cooking.  They brought them into the house in style!

Yesterday we had a fancy "tea party" with milk and cookies!  Taylor reminded us to "eat with our pinkies up".  (Thanks to our Fancy Nancy books we got for Christmas)

Taylor and Cute Cade - almost three months old!  What a handsome guy!
